In the UN workplace, people living with HIV face numerous challenges related to their HIV status and conditions. For example, many UN staff living with HIV have difficulty in gaining access to HIV related treatment and care. They are also concerned with the confidentiality of their personal information, including their HIV status.
Many still observe HIV-related stigma in their workplace and some even experience harassment and discrimination based on their HIV status. Furthermore, the entry and residence restrictions on people living with HIV that some countries enforce significantly affect the international work and career development of UN staff members living with HIV.
UN Plus addresses these concerns to senior management and advocates for changes in policy and practice in the UN work environment for people living with HIV.
UN Plus has published several publications on the above issues. They can be found in this page.
