Zambia

The UN Plus Zambia Chapter was launched on 14 October 2011.  The Chapter will work closely with the UN Cares Programme.  UN Plus will be given a platform during UN Cares sessions to encourage staff on their need to know their status so as to reduce stigma and discrimination in the workplace.  Further, the UN Plus Chapter in Zambia will, periodically hold meetings with the Network of People Living with HIV in Zambia (NZP+).

The objectives of the UN Plus Chapter are:

  • To create a more enabling environment for all HIV positive staff members, irrespective of level of disclosure of their HIV status.
  • To create and organise an effective voice for people living with HIV within the United Nations system that challenges stigma and discrimination.
  • To contribute to the development and/or improvement of existing policies on HIV among United Nations agencies.

UN Plus Zambia has only 2 members.
